On August 25th, police say that a car, carrying three passengers, was traveling east on I-90 in Oak Creek around 5:30 p.m. when it drifted into the westbound lanes. The driver then lost control of the vehicle and was struck head-on by an oncoming tractor-trailer.
Oak Creek Now reports that the truck driver attempted to avoid striking the car but couldn’t and ran onto the right shoulder. The truck then rolled over.
One of the occupants of the car, a 65-year-old man suffered fatal injuries. Two other passengers, a 36-year-old man, who was driving, and a 64-year-old woman were also injured, according to Oak Creek Now. Witnesses said their vehicle was almost unrecognizable.
The truck driver and his passenger were not injured.
Police said neither drugs nor alcohol were involved in the accident, but are still investigating the exact cause.
