Omari Grey is known by many for being a farmer, a fitness expert, and a father of nine. Some even call him “Superman.” Unfortunately, Grey’s life has been turned upside down after he was involved in a collision with a tractor-trailer in Virginia. WUSA9 says Grey was heading home in his farm delivery vehicle from D.C. when he drifted into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with a tractor-trailer. Although the driver of the tractor-trailer was unharmed, Grey was critically injured and had to be flown to a hospital in Richmond.
Once he arrived at the hospital, Grey was then placed on life support. Although he has since been taken off, the news source says he is still struggling to survive.
Friends, Family, and Community Members Rally Together to Support Grey’s Family
After the tragic accident, friends, family, and members from various communities came together in an effort to help support the family during this tough time. So far, $1,085,601 has been raised for the family on the LaunchGood website, according to the news source. Perhaps Grey’s involvement in the community is one of the reasons why the family received such an outpour of support.
The news source says that Grey isn’t only a farmer and father of nine, but he is also a calculus teacher in D.C. and a youth scout leader. Grey has also earned the title of being a fitness guru and was named an Ultimate Men’s Health Guy by the Men’s Health magazine. The source says Grey is also a devout Muslim and his family lives in rural Virginia where he has converted “his 50 acres of land to a non-profit retreat serving at-risk youth,” according to Men’s Health.
While Grey continues to fight for his life, community members continue to send their love and prayers to him and his family.
My loved one was involved in an accident in Orange County, Virginia. What can I do to help them raise money for the unexpected expenses they have incurred as a result of the incident?
Car accidents not only result in physical and psychological suffering, but they are also known for putting a strain on finances. If a family member of yours suffered serious injuries in a crash that requires them to undergo continuous medical care, you may be able to help them raise money to cover their medical care by doing one or more of the following:
- Launch a fundraiser. Many platforms support fundraising efforts including GoFundMe.
- Consult with a Virginia accident lawyer. An attorney will be able to determine if and how much compensation a victim may be entitled to recover from the other party for the injuries they suffered.
