Speeding Truck Yolo, CA- Police have charged a Texas truck driver with driving under the influence after he caused an accident involving property damage in Vacaville.

The accident occurred on Christmas Day around 5:30 p.m. A witness called police to report that the saw a tractor-trailer strike a fire hydrant, sending a geyser of water 25 feet into the air. The truck driver then fled the scene, according to the Reporter.

The driver of the truck, a man from Texas, admitted to striking the hydrant and leaving the scene. Police then placed him under arrest for driving under the influence while in control of a commercial vehicle, according to the Reporter.
