Snow Leads to Multiple Truck Crashes in NE Ohio
Snow made for treacherous conditions on I-77 and I-277 in NE Ohio last Tuesday and Wednesday and resulted in several traffic crashes that involved both passenger vehicles and commercial trucks.
On Tuesday, police were forced to close the southbound lanes of I-77 in Cleveland for several hours after a tractor-trailer jackknifed, Fox 8 reports. No other vehicles were involved, and no one was injured. It took hours for the lanes to reopen.
Fox 8 reports that there were additional crashes throughout the Cleveland area last Tuesday and Wednesday.
In Akron, a passenger car was crushed between two 18-wheelers on I-277. Fox 8 reported on this crash which they say occurred around 10:30 a.m. in the eastbound lanes. A total of eight vehicles were involved in the chain-reaction collision.
The driver of the car sandwiched between the two commercial trucks was not injured. One person involved was injured and had to be taken to a local hospital for treatment.
