The Las Vegas Review Journal reports that the accident occurred Wednesday, May 27th on Dean Martin Drive around 9 p.m. According to reports the driver of tractor-trailer was in the southbound lanes when he entered a northbound two-way turn lane and headed in northbound driving lanes.

The taxi driver saw the tractor-trailer and tried to avoid the collision but was unsuccessful, according to the Review Journal.

The semi driver who was later identified as 44-year-old Bernard Tropp, fled the scene on foot but was later apprehended. He has been charged with driving under the influence.

Four passengers in the cab, all young tourists from Calgary, Canada, and the cab driver suffered non-life threatening injuries that were moderate to serious.
