The truck driver was not injured and remained on the scene. He was tested for intoxication, but police found no evidence that drugs and alcohol were involved in the crash, according to the Chicago Tribune.
The victims include a mother and her three children, aged 7 months, 1 year and 2 years, along with the a 17 year-old family friend.
