Rear-End Impact Trucking Accidents

Rear-end collisions are frequent occurrences and account for 22 percent of commercial trucking accidents, according to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s Large Truck Crash Causation Study from 2014. There is a long list of reasons why drivers rear-end others including:

Abrupt changes in the flow of traffic

Distractions including eating, cells phones, and onboard entertainment systems

Driving while drowsy or fatigued

Failing to adjust speed in poor weather conditions

Speeding in a work zone

Those are just a few of circumstances typical in rear-end crashes. Any of the above actions can set a fatal accident in motion and are considered negligent. That means the people hurt by careless drivers or the relatives of the victims killed may be entitled to compensation for their economic damages and emotional distress.
