Trenton, NJ- A New Jersey teen is dead following a collision between a pickup truck and tractor-trailer that occurred last Friday and Delaware.

NJ.com reports that Tyler Brown, a 17-year-old man from Gloucester County, was killed after the pickup truck he was a passenger in was struck by a tractor-trailer last Friday. The accident occurred around 11:30 p.m. in Middleton, Delaware on

Police told NBC Philadelphia that the 17-year-old man driving the pickup truck attempted to cross U.S. Route 301 when he pulled into the path of a tractor-trailer traveling northbound. The tractor-trailer struck the front passenger side where Brown was seated, causing the pickup to spin out of control. The impact of the collision also caused the tractor-trailer to tip over, NBC reported.

Brown survived the initial impact and was rushed to the hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries, NJ.com reports.

The pickup driver was taken to the hospital in critical condition. A female passenger in the pickup was injured and was listed in serious condition.

The tractor-trailer driver and his passenger were also injured but their condition is unknown.
