According to NJ.com, the chain-reaction accident was set off when a passenger vehicle motorist approached and exit on I-95 in Bensalem and began slowing for traffic. A tractor-trailer driven by Analoliy Baranovich then rear-ended that car causing it to strike three other vehicles.
After colliding with the car, Baranovich’s tractor-trailer was pushed to the into the center lane where a second tractor-trailer was traveling. That tractor-trailer, driven by Paul Mirys, of Trenton, NJ, swerved to avoid colliding with the first tractor-trailer, according to NJ.com.
Mirys kept traveling to the left and his tractor-trailer eventually struck the concrete guard rail and overturned, spilling his load of scrap metal across the highway.
Mirys was killed and several other motorists were injured Because of this accident, the northbound lanes of 1-95 were closed for several hours.
This accident is still under investigation so the exact cause and whether Baranovich or other parties will face charges has not been determined.

It could be the fault of first truck driver, who could have been distracted or going too fast. Or, it could be the fault of a trucking company if mechanical failure was the primary cause.
