New Hampshire – Three separate truck accidents throughout the state have recently been dominating the New Hampshire news.
Intoxicated Woman Causes Truck Accident in Rochester.
Rochester, NH – A New Hampshire woman who was driving her pickup truck under the influence is responsible for causing three cars to get in an accident.
WCSH 6 reports that Megan Morrison, age 21, was recently charged with a felony after causing a pretty serious truck accident while driving drunk. This past Monday she was driving her pickup truck on Route 125 when she struck another pickup truck, driven by Mark Hale, age 63, that was stopped at the Oak Street intersection. The sheer impact of the initial crash caused Hale’s truck to slam into the back of 24-year-old Michael Mills’ car.
While Morrison and her passenger were not wearing any kind of seatbelts, that is the least of her worries. At the time of the truck accident, she had an outstanding warrant for her arrest for failing to appear in court. As a result, after her collision she was charged with negligent driving, driving with a suspended license, and felony-level driving while under the influence. WCSH 6 further reports that police officers who were at the scene said there were remnants of both drugs and alcohol in her truck.
Currently, the truck accident is still under investigation. Morrison is being treated at Portsmouth Regional Hospital for her injuries, and Hale is at the Wentworth-Douglass Hospital. It’s safe to say that Megan Morrison will need the help of experienced truck accident attorneys in order to figure out this legal case.
Truck Accident Kills Two Men in Oxford.
Oxford, NH – In another part of the state, Oxford, New Hampshire, two men were struck and killed in a truck accident.
Late Tuesday evening WGME revealed that two men were coming from the Oxford Casino and made it about halfway across Route 26 when they were both hit by a pickup truck. Reports say that the two men, Ronald Nodrega, age 55, and Daniel Mercado, age 31, were both in town on business when they were struck by a pickup truck driven by an unidentified 70-year-old New Hampshire woman.
According to the Police Chief on the scene, Jonathan Tibbetts, he does not anticipate any charges. The reason? Due to a poorly lit street, absence of a crosswalk, and lack of pedestrian crossing signs.
UPS Driver Hospitalized after Truck Accident in Nashua.
Nashua, NH – The driver of a UPS truck had to be taken to the local hospital after getting into a truck accident on the turnpike.
NH1 News Network shared that authorities found a UPS 18-wheeler off of the turnpike between exits five and six heading southbound. The Fire Rescue Deputy Chief at the scene, George Walker, said that the truck accident was a result of the truck going over the guardrail and falling down a ledge. Luckily, it landed completely upright on it’s wheels. While the UPS truck’s cab was damaged, along with a good stretch of guardrail, no other casualties have been reported.
The UPS truck driver was taken to St. Joseph Hospital, and the incident is currently still under investigation.
