Palm Springs, CA- Breaking down on the side of a highway is treacherous. Motorists and truck drivers are vulnerable if they break down on the side road. A recent accident on the 10 Freeway in California that left three people dead demonstrates the hazards of breaking down on the side of a freeway.

Two Semis Crash Killing Three and Injuring a Young Girl

Three men died, and a young girl was critically injured early Thursday morning, October 26, 2017, on the 10 Freeway near Desert Center. The Press-Enterprise reports that semi-truck carrying two men and a young girl slammed into a disabled semi parked on the side of the road.

The driver of the disabled truck was outside the truck when the second semi struck the rear of his rig. Police told the Press-Enterprise an unidentified object killed him.

The driver of the second semi was found deceased in the truck. A male passenger and little girl were ejected from the cab and found nearby.

It’s unclear why the second semi hit the disabled vehicle.
