Truck AccidentAustin, TX- An Austin-area teen was killed last month when a truck driver ran a red light and crashed into the car she was traveling in.

Just hours after March 12th accident, 15-year-old Delia Ramirez died at the University Medical Center Brackenridge.

Ramirez was riding with 37-year-old Margarita Ramirez and a 22-month-old child in northbound SH 130 service road near Parmer Lane when they were struck, according to KXAN.

Police say a 38-year-old truck driver from Virginia ran a red light and slammed into car around 8:30 p.m. After striking the car, the semi caught on fire.

Delia Ramirez survived the initial impact, but later died in the hospital. Margarita Ramirez and the 22-month-old both suffered serious injuries, KXAN reported.
