TriValley Central.com reports that the accident occurred early Friday morning, around 7:45 a.m., in the Maricopa County. Police say a 17-year-old man driving a pickup was traveling on Arizona 347when he stopped to make a left turn at Farrell Road when he was struck by a semi hauling cattle.
AZfamily.com reports that the 17-year-old football player was T-boned and was pronounced dead on the scene. Both trucks rolled over after colliding. Police said the teen was not wearing his seat belt when the collision occurred.
The truck driver was also injured and was taken to a local hospital for treatment. One officer told AZFamily.com that 10 out of the three dozen cows on the truck had to “be put down.”
Police have not yet determined the cause of this accident.
