Man Killed in Cadillac After Semi-Truck Accident

Fuel Tanker Ignites Outside of Detroit

On July 13th, it was reported that a fuel tanker had caught fire on Interstate 75, just outside of Detroit. Faced with this safety concern, authorities closed down the section of the highway while repairs and maintenance were conducted. The driver of the tanker was unharmed for the most part, having escaped the flames in time. The tanker had struck a median, resulting in 14,000 gallons of fuel igniting. Fortunately, no innocent people were caught in the blaze.

Later, it was reported that the area of this explosion would take six weeks to repair. This would cost taxpayers $1.5 million in total, and it would no doubt lead to traffic issues while the construction was taking place – perhaps creating a risk for future accidents.
